We moved down to Charlotte from NJ and NY with our birds in August 2015. We have not had to use a vet since we have been here until now (June 2016) but I was given several referrals by Parrot University in Pineville for the best Avian vets in the area. We called around and spoke to a few, but after speaking with many veterinarians we liked the availability, friendliness of staff, pricing, and reviews of Animal Care Hospital of Matthews. We went in to have our little lovebird looked at for a tumor on his foot, already anticipating that we were going to have it removed. The staff was so wonderful and so is Dr. Rutowski. I am so thankful for finding out about Dr. Rutowski they were able to have us come back in two days for the surgery which went extremely well and I am very pleased with our experience with this amazing place. Expect exceptional service, friendly, compassionate, and straightforward staff, and your beloved pet to be well taken care of in their hands. We found this hospital by doing a search for are area. I knew after speaking to them that they would be a great fit for us. We were moving to them after getting sub par care and service at our previous vets office. From that first phone inquiry Candice made it an easy decision for me to transfer all records with out hesitation. We went in for a check up and shots a few months later and the staff was fantastic and the facilities were very clean. Dr. Rutowski is professional, compassionate and knowledgeable. Our dog boarded there many times and never had anxiety or issues. We sadly had to put her down recently and though she was sick, she was comfortable with all the staff and the doctor to the end. I have been a vet tech and I can tell you that that kind of peaceful relationship between pet and treatment is a reflection of the people. To sum it up. Amazing vet, fantastic staff, clean environment very good prices!

We are so lucky to have found them! They are always willing to squeeze us in, really listen to our concerns, and take their time. My dogs really don't mind going to the vet, especially with all of the treats and belly rubs they get there.
